Payment VND

If you have a Vietnamese local VND account payment could not be simpler. Pay in directly to the either Techombank or MB.

Payment US dollars

If you have a US dollar account, you can also pay directly. Normally bank to bank transfers are fine, but please do check the amount you are charged. Sometimes it can be cheaper with Wise the payment processor we recommend below for foreign currencies.

Payment other currencies

Vietnam has strict international currency controls. This is just the way it is. Because of this, many banks and traditional payment companies like PayPal effectively charge 20% to convert to VND. This is why we use and recommend Wise formerly known as TransferWise. Revolute also have quite a good service if you have an account as they are very competitive on pricing.

Setting up a payment for Wise

Its actually quite easy. You can either use a separate email address and password or just sign in with your Google Id. Select from the menu to add a new recipient. Details are as follows:

You can find Ying’s bank account via the email address connected with the account (step 3). Once setup sending money is quite straight forward. Payments are quite fast too. Most of the time they are within minutes however some further away countries and bank holidays take a little longer (sometimes up to a day).

Use the MB Bank if Techombank is experiencing some difficulties. Different banks / countries have different preferences because Vietnam does not use IBAN, instead only Swift.
