Culture Tours

Introduction

Hanoi is the starting point for many tours of Vietnam. While it may be one of SE Asia’s fastest growing cities, it still has a rich cultural heritage. When in Hanoi, a one day city tour is a great way to get to know this fascinating city.

A must see is the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, not just a revered monument that houses the remains of the founding father of modern Vietnam, but a whole complex that contains many other interesting things to see. No trip to Hanoi is complete without crossing the red wooden bridge to get to the Jade Island where the the Ngoc Son Temple is.

We also have a visit to the outstanding Temple of Literature. This institution dates back some one thousand years. Built originally purely for royalty and bureaucrats - it was later opened to gifted students of all backgrounds in Vietnam. Today it is a historic relic so we are lucky that we can see all around the place.

Alternatively we have tour that includes the incense village of Quang Phu Cau that is world famous and a short car ride away. This village has a rich history going back over 100 years of making incense. The beautiful coloured bundles of incense make for lovely photographs.
