Giang Ta Chai Village

Sights - Giang Ta Chai Village

This is another village on both sides of the valley. Both equally beautiful, but the majority of homestays are on the Sapa side and further up for a better view. There are many rice terraces higher up here as well as a lovely waterfall to see. Most of the residents are still farmers of the Red Dao ethnic group.

Crossing the river from one side of the village to the other is via a quite small and lovely suspension bridge built some 20 years ago. All crossings of the river are important as there are so few of them.

Homestays

This is one of the three homestay locations in the valley. Ta Van and Su Pan being the other two. At the bottom of the valley the homestays are still very basic just as they were many years ago. Higher up are the new ones that have more comfortable facilities as well as private rooms. These ones also have a superb view of the valley below.

Waterfall

There are two, kind of. There is one waterfall down at the bottom near the Muong Hoa river and then in the other direction further up the valley in the village of Hau Thao - it’s so close it has to be mentioned.

A very smart new homestay in Giang Ta Chai. Also a nice place for an early morning coffee watching the clouds roll by.

Exiting the bamboo forest that goes all the way to Ta Van and more. You can see how dense it is.
