Sights - Muong Hoa River
The river get its name because its location as the main river in the Muong Hoa Valley. The river begins from the foot of Silver Waterfall and combines with another river from Fansipan mountain, about 12 kilometers north of Sapa and winds its way through the valley, passing through several minority villages including Lao Chai, Ta Van, and Hau Thao. This river is seasonal in nature and swells dramatically after a good rainstorm.
River crossings
There are a few crossings, mostly basic suspension bridges that are big enough for people and motorbikes only. Sometimes the remains of older crossings are visible - like the Cau May crossing in Ta Van now only accessible via the Museum homestay.

During the dry season the river can almost dry up to nothing. Here at Lao Chai we can see the river reduced to just pools of water.
