Sights - Silver falls Waterfall

Thac Bac Waterfall, also known as Silver Falls, is popular with Vietnamese and foreigners alike. The name comes from the silver reflections of the stones in the sunlight. The waterfall has an impressive height of 200m. As the water forcefully cascades down the cliff, it forms a brilliant white strip against the rocks, resembling a cascade of silver, hence the name.

Set 12 kilometers from the center of Sapa, Thac Bac offers a quieter and more peaceful experience compared to other tourist spots in the area. Although reaching the waterfall requires some effort, the journey is still rewarding.

To make access easier for visitors, two staircases had been built, one on each side of the waterfall (one up and the other down). There are also stairwells where you can get an even closer look at the waterfall.

Best time of year to visit

Between February to June are the strongest water flows making for the more spectacular waterfall strength. Other times of year can be less impressive.
