Angel Eye Mountain

Sights - Angel Eye Mountain

Nui Mat Than (magic eye) mountain gets it’s name from the ethnic Tay language. The Angel Eye is set amongst a range of giant limestone karsts. Inside the eye there is also a cave.

Before tourism, this place used to be a favourite with locals for fishing and camping when the lakes were full of water. This area is still used for grazing buffalo and horses.

Plea for the ecology

Please don’t pick the flowers here, climb the attraction or break off any of the stones for souvenirs. The ecosystem here is delicate. Please remember responsible and sustainable tourism.

Thang Hen Lake

This is actually a complex of 36 large and small natural lakes connected by underground caves known as the “Thang Hen Lake System”. When the lakes are full it is possible to get a sightseeing boat.

Another view this time a little closer. Alas the limitations of my camera phone are quite evident in the sunshine
