Sights - Ethnology Museum
Completed in 1997 after 10 years of construction, this museum is approximately one hectare in size. The mission of the Museum is to collect, document, research, preserve and exhibit the cultural and historic elements of the nation’s different ethnic groups. The museum is in 2 parts, the indoor & the outdoor.
The permant indoor collection
This is made up of 9 permant sections. Each made up of a different ethnic group or groups with a special section for the Viet (Kinh) ethnic group.
Outdoor exibits
The outdoor exhibition area is large enough for to show off full size examples of the Ede long house, the Tay stilt house, the Yao house (a 1/2 stilts house) the Hmong house whose roof is made of pomu wood and the Viet house with tile roof.
