Chieu Cave (Hang Chiều) is located on a limestone karst hillside directly adjacent to Ban Lac Village. The cave is reached by climbing approximately 1,200 stone steps up the hillside - a workout that takes around 15-25 minutes depending on your pace.
The cave itself contains stalactites and stalagmites and takes around 20-30 minutes to explore. But the real draw is the view from the hillside - a sweeping panorama across the entire Mai Chau Valley with rice paddies, stilt houses and limestone karsts laid out below you.
The entrance fee is approximately 20,000-40,000 VND. The steps can be steep and slippery in wet weather so wear comfortable shoes with good grip. Allow around 1-1.5 hours for the full visit including the climb, cave and descent.
