Getting to know...
Hang Kia is a remote Hmong village located in the mountains above the Mai Chau Valley. Unlike the White Thai villages on the valley floor, Hang Kia sits at a much higher elevation, giving it a cooler climate and a completely different atmosphere.
The village is less visited than the valley below, offering a more off-the-beaten-path experience. The Hmong people here maintain a traditional way of life, with farming and textile work at the centre of daily routines.
Getting there
Hang Kia is reached by a steep mountain road from the Mai Chau Valley. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes by motorbike or car.
