Hieu Waterfall

Getting to know...

Hieu Waterfall (Thác Hiêu) is the most famous natural attraction in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve. The waterfall cascades over multiple tiers of limestone rock, creating a series of natural pools surrounded by dense jungle. The lower pools are deep enough for swimming and are a popular reward after a morning of trekking through the reserve.

The waterfall is located near Ban Hieu village and is reached by a short trek from the village. The water is clearest in the dry season but the falls are at their most impressive after rain when the volume of water increases dramatically.

Swimming

The pools are swimmable year-round but are most inviting in the warmer months (April-October). Bring swimwear and water shoes as the rocks can be slippery.
