Boat trips on the Black River near Mai Chau usually take place on the Hoa Binh Lake section of the river around Suoi Lon. The water here is broad and generally calm, making it a relaxed scenic activity rather than an adventurous cruise.
Most outings last around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the route and whether there is time for a swim or a stop by the shore. The main appeal is the setting itself: emerald water, limestone hills, small fishing areas and a noticeably quieter atmosphere than the Mai Chau valley floor.
