Getting to know...
This route links Xam Khoe and Bao La, two White Thai areas beyond the main Ban Lac and Pom Coong circuit. It is more of a scenic countryside walk than a demanding mountain trek, making it a good fit for travellers who want more time in the landscape without committing to a difficult hiking day.
The trail usually takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on pace, weather and how often you stop for photos or conversation along the way. The scenery is classic Mai Chau: rice fields, low hills, streams, farmland and stilt-house villages spread across a broad green valley.
What makes this walk worthwhile is the quieter atmosphere. Compared with the better-known villages around the main tourist area, this route feels more local and less trafficked, while still being easy enough for most active travellers.
