Don Village

Getting to know...

Don village is one of the most well-known villages in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve, popular for its stunning location overlooking terraced rice fields and for its well-established homestay scene. The village sits on a hillside with sweeping views across the valleys below.

Don is a common first stop for trekkers entering Pu Luong from the Mai Chau side. From here, trails lead south and west through the reserve to other villages including Kho Muong and towards Hieu Waterfall.

Homestays

The homestays in Don are Thai minority stilt houses - simple but comfortable, with mattresses on the floor and mosquito nets. Most have balconies with views of the terraces. Dinner is communal and home-cooked. Don has more homestay options than other villages in the reserve, making it a good choice for travellers who want a bit more flexibility.
