Getting to know...
Bamboo rafting on the Cham River is one of Pu Luong’s most distinctive activities. Traditional bamboo rafts are poled gently downstream by a local boatman, drifting past terraced rice fields, limestone cliffs and the iconic bamboo water wheels that line the riverbanks.
The float takes approximately 30-45 minutes and is completely relaxing - no paddling required. The departure point is near Hieu Waterfall, making it a natural pairing with a waterfall visit. Sit back, enjoy the scenery and listen to the sound of the water wheels turning.
On tours where bamboo rafting is included, there is usually a simple local lunch nearby as part of the activity. Expect a selection of grilled pork, fresh vegetables and rice - straightforward countryside food that fits the setting well.
